After the end of the Second World War, communist regimes were established in many eastern European countries. As a consequence, Generali lost all of its real estate assets in these countries, along with its network of branches and agencies. Thanks to president Enrico Randone, in 1989 the Company re-enters Hungary and in the following years Generali will expand in other eleven Easter European countries.
